This site is a tribute to Sgt, David Lorenzo Thompson, born in Miami Florida on December 18, 1965 to the late Earnest and Mae Linda Thompson. David received his education in the Miami-Dade County Public School System. He attended Miami Springs Senior High. While in school he became a member of the Golden Hawks football team. He received special recognition in an article in the Miami Herald on October 3,1982 for outstanding play that season. He would later be installed in the Golden Hawk Hall of fame. David earned his diploma with graduating class of 1983.
Immediately after graduating High School David enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve and served for five years. David became a Miami-Dade County Public Schools Police officer on January 27, 1999 where he served until the book of his Life was closed.
On September 23, 1992 David was united in holy matrimony to Raylene Sherell Joseph. Raylene had four children Malcolm, Ontavia, Rondy, and Yolanda.
In 1993 David gave his life to Christ. He served as a faithful member of the Day Spring Missionary Baptist Church. He served as a Deacon and was a member of the financial committee.
David was preceded in death by his sister; Cynthia Moore, Brother Alfred Thompson, Sister-In-Law Rosemary Thompson.
On February 21, 2019 at 2 PM God called David home. He leaves to cherish heartfelt memories and loving devoted wife Raylene Thompson; his children, Yolanda, Ontavia, Malcolm, Rondy; Grandchildren, Zillah, Rondy Jr, and Russell; Three sister; Dorothy Bailey Nichols (Emmit), Mae Hill, Juanita Parish (Joe); Two Brothers, Earnest Thompson (Jestine), Alvune Thompson; also Uncles, Aunt, In-Laws, Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Co-Workers, Church Family, and beloved Friends.
He will always be loved and remembered till eternity, from so many.
